Climate Wave Enterprises provide sustainable event management advice, practices & services to deliver events that conform with international sustainable standards. We work with the planet for positive ethical and social outcomes, and provide a holistic recreational event experience that engages all stakeholders in a journey that will reduce environmental impact whilst having fun.
We know the impact of your event on the environment is in the back of your mind. That’s why you’re here.
And we’re here to help. Because we know you’re not alone; so many event organisers that we talk to have that same concern… you want to minimise your event’s environmental footprint, but it’s the “how” that’s the problem.
We’ll let you in on a secret – that’s our history too, and we’ve experienced that nagging voice ourselves while organising numerous events of our own, and with various community organisations, over the past two decades.
In fact, it’s why Climate Wave Enterprises was created.
Going Green is Easy
Believe it or not, that is the reality. However, we understand that as an event organiser, you don’t have time to do everything!
Which is why the Climate Wave team has harnessed a plethora of experience, up-to-date technology, supply chain suppliers and sustainable event information.
We stand ready to help you stage incredible events that protect the Planet, while simultaneously raising your community standing among sponsors and patrons.

About Greg Howell, Climate Wave’s creator
Greg Howell started his path towards environmental advocacy surfing along Victoria’s coastline in the early ’70’s.
In 1989 he attended his first No Nukes Rally in Sydney, and then gave into the temptation of surfing in warmer waters of the Gold Coast in 1992, where his passion flourished and has been an environmental campaigner ever since.
Greg previously worked as executive director of Surfrider Foundation Australia, an organisation founded to care for the nation’s waves and beaches where he holds one of very few honorary lifetime memberships.
He has kick started a range of local and national environmental education programs, and has devoted time to a myriad of other environmental causes, organisations and events.
After 27 years with the organisation Greg serves as a mentor to a new generation of Surfrider Foundation members and as President of Gold Coast Branch is actively working with their Eco Challenge events.
Founding Climate Wave Enterprises in 2008, inspired by the simple changes he believed event organisers could make to minimise the impact of events on the environment. Greg currently works to promote the practices of sustainable event management, green supply chains and cutting edge sustainability knowledge to event organisers around Australia and overseas.
Yes we have a video 🙂 Greg was interviewed on the 31/05/2019 at The Couch Outloud, Pushing the Paradigms event and talks about what led him on the path towards sustainable event management.
Looking to the future as a Director of Sustainable Event Alliance, Greg sees the invaluable contribution that sustainable event management practices can have on reducing our impact on the planet.
Greg’s sights are set on a sustainable future for all types of events, and helping create a local legacy both for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, and beyond.
